How can we create food imagery during a global pandemic?

Covid-19 has changed life as we knew it, industries across the world are adapting the way in which they work in line with the latest advice from governments. When the lockdown hit the UK as with most companies the Food Photography industry ground to a halt, months worth of bookings one by one cancelled as we sat in anticipation, wondering what was to come and how we could safely return to work. Industry was a little slow to get going, but that it did, and dare I say its almost back to the normal amount of food shoots. We wash our hands often, fill out track and trace forms daily, stay two meters away from our colleagues, talk to clients remotely and wear masks in the smaller studio spaces. I helped one of my clients Power House Photography in Leeds produce a video for them to show the clients the way in which we can continue to produce content safely and remotely. One of the stranger Food Styling jobs, we weren't marketing any food, instead evolving and adapting for the future of industry. On a skeleton crew - anyone who wasn’t necessary dialled in it was me and a camera operator taking instructions over Skype from the director. Check it out below….
